The VaalTracker unit is a fully functional 1200bd APRS tracker with an embedded GPS. The
hardware may be run off 12V/24V supplies. Ensure the radio to be added will be of the correct
voltage though!
The Vaaltracker features a balance between useful position reporting and not overloading the rf
network. 1200bd has been selected as the modulation mode since it is readily compatible with most
VHF / FM radios capable to be set up on 144.800MHz. The digital repeater networks and gateways
should be able to carry the packets to all other services.
